This Texas Golf Resort Is a T+L Reader Favorite (Travel+Leisure)

It wasn’t too long ago that Frisco, Texas, was just another small town in the Lone Star State. But much like the rest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Frisco has experienced rapid growth in both population and development over the past decades. One of its newest additions, however, is a true hospitality standout, even in an area that certainly doesn’t lack big-name hotel players.

Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa opened its doors in May 2023 and was quickly voted the best hotel in Texas in Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards, as well as one of the best hotels in the world on T+L’s 500 list.

Activities and Experiences

As you have probably gathered by now (and by its name), the biggest draw here is golf. There are two 18-hole championship courses—one designed by Gil Hanse, the other by Beau Welling—along with a short course, a practice facility, and a two-acre putting green. And if the weather is not cooperating, guests can play a virtual game at the Lounge by Top Golf. For anyone who might need some instruction, there’s a 12,000-square-foot PGA Coaching Center for individual and group lessons. In addition, in June, the hotel held the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and in 2027, it will host the PGA Championship.

There’s plenty in store for non-golfers, too. Along with the Savor Festival, Omni PGA Frisco has other signature events, such as its annual Fireworks on The Fairway (a celebration of Independence Day) and Home on The Range for The Holidays.
