Peter Stewart
Design Associate (Thailand)
Peter Stewart, who was born and brought up in St. Andrews Scotland, the home of golf, is a Design Associate at BWD. Golf has been in the blood from an early age, following in his father’s footsteps. Stewart started playing golf as well as caddying on the Old Course from the age of nine as a member of the St. Andrews Golf Club. After spending his entire youth playing and caddying on all the courses at the home of golf, as well as many other famed Scottish courses, he knew he wanted to have a career in the golf industry.
Stewart studied agronomy and golf course construction at Elmwood College in Scotland and also at the Ohio State University before beginning a career with the St. Andrews Links Trust, working on the Old Course. He has now lived and worked in seven different countries and has a great deal of experience and knowledge in golf course design, construction and agronomy.
He has been involved with many of the world’s top courses including The Old Course, The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, TPC Sawgrass, Augusta National and Emirates Golf Club. He gained a real passion for the golf course design process, while working alongside Dye Design for almost two years on the renovation and re-design of the stadium course at TPC Sawgrass.
Stewart previously served as full-time design representative for the new Tiger Woods-designed Trump World Golf Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, working with the team at Beau Welling Design on the project.
