Hunter Rigsby

Hunter Rigsby is a Senior Design Associate and joined BWD after graduating from Clemson University with honors in 2014. His passion for golf course architecture grew out of a love for the game itself. His grandfather was an assistant pro at The Pit Golf Links in Pinehurst, NC, which prompted a childhood spent inundated with the game in one of the nation’s great golfing towns.

Rigsby first joined BWD as an intern in 2013 before studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland, where he had the opportunity to experience and study some of the greatest and most history-laden golf courses in the world. After graduating, he spent six months learning the construction side of the industry, working with Medalist Golf Inc. on a Fazio Design renovation project at River Oaks CC in Houston, Texas, before heading back to Ireland to work as a caddie at Portmarnock Golf Club. In late 2015, following his first season at Portmarnock, he returned to BWD as a full-time design associate, where he quickly became an integral part of our design team.

Outside of BWD, Rigsby is extremely involved in the Irish national sport of hurling, serving as the Chairperson of the local club, the Greenville Gaels. If he’s not working on a golf or hurling related project, you can probably find him on his endless pursuit of the world’s best tiki bars and roller coasters.
