Who We Are
Shortly after the formation of Beau Welling Design, Beau ran across a thinking quiz entitled What Kind of Thinker Are You? It quickly became a fun exercise to determine a staff member's viewpoint and perspective in the development of our holistic approach.
The quiz was based on a whole brain thinking theory, which divides the brain into quadrants and states that each person has a predominant quadrant that responds and influences a person's thinking style. Generally, right brain thinkers rely on their intuitive qualities and approach problems in a holistic manner. While left brain thinkers rely more on facts and figures and are more analytical and logical in their approach. Further, each side is divided into abstract or concrete thinking patterns. Each quadrant then has its prevailing theme: left-brain abstract (analytic), left-brain concrete (conclusive), right-brain abstract (conceptual), and right-brain concrete (interactive).
The knowledge we have gained from this simple quiz has given us a deeper respect for one another and has allowed us to better communicate and relate as a team. It has forged a bond between us that may have gone unrecognized otherwise.
Just as the goal in the pursuit of holistic personal development is to utilize every quadrant in a person's brain, the goal in the pursuit of BWD's holistic approach is to ensure every project has the benefit of utilizing the strength each staff member brings to a project. Below we have identified BWD's staff members and their predominant strengths.
